We offer a Spiritual Book Club – ideal for people just becoming aware of spirituality and the need for spiritual nourishment. At weekly meetings participants share their experiences of the readings and become more competent in the area of spirituality and theology.
Spiritual Book Club meets on the 4th Wednesday of the month @ 4:00 pm.
The book for the next month is The Misunderstood Jew by Amy-Jill Levine.
Spiritual Book Club Meetings will be held at the Presbyterian Church of the Roses in Bowen Hall and on Zoom.
Contact Cathy Trione or Joanne Del Castillo at srsec.office@gmail.com for further information.
We also offer a Peace & Justice Book Club. The Peace and Justice group offers participants an opportunity to study theology in the area of social justice based on the spirituality of St. Ignatius. The books chosen reflect on philosophies, religions, and secular groups as well. We also study politics as it relates to peace and justice issues. Knowledge is gained through the readings, shared with members, and often actions are initiated that contribute to the common good of the community.
Peace and Justice Book Club will begin on Thursday, September 7, 2023 @ 10:30 am.
Meetings will be held on the Zoom platform.
Contact Betty Ferris at srsec.office@gmail.com for further information.
